Medical Center Continues Air Ambulance Service with REACH
Redding, CA – April 29, 2005 – Shasta Regional Medical Center today announced that the
agreement with REACH Air Medical Service has been amended and REACH will continue to be the Hospital’s preferred provider of helicopter ambulance services.
As part of the revised agreement, REACH will hire the AirMedTeam’s current staff and
operate its NorthState base of operations from the MedicalCenter campus. The majority of these nurses and paramedics from the Hospital have been flying in REACH helicopters since
1999.
“The AirMedTeam in Redding has the ability to be in constant communication with any
Hospital in the NorthState during flight due to our advanced satellite radio communication system,” comments Jim Adams, CEO of REACH. “Overall, our company has offered air
ambulance service since 1987 and believes there is a substantial difference in being solely dedicated to the medical transportation of patients. We are pleased that Shasta Regional is
remaining a committed partner to this proven expertise.”
REACH Air Medical Services is headquartered in Santa Rosa and offers helicopter and fixed
wing patient transportation for critically ill and injured patients. The company has completed more than 25,000 air ambulance missions and is one of the first air transport programs to be
fully certified by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS). The company has one of the most aggressive safety programs in the air ambulance industry. To
