REACH Air Medical Services Provides Helicopter Service at Infineon Raceway
Specially Dedicated Helicopter Crew to
Cover NASCAR Nextel Cup on June 24, 25 & 26
SANTA ROSA, CALIF. June 23, 2005
– REACH Air Medical Services will operate their special events helicopter at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif., this weekend on June 24, 25 and 26, 2005 from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in support of the NASCAR Nextel Cup races.
“REACH is happy to provide dedicated helicopter air ambulance coverage for the NASCAR Nextel Cup,” said
REACH spokesperson Dan McDonald. “This dedicated service will not impact any areas REACH normally provides service to throughout Northern and Central California. We are excited to add this additional
helicopter dedicated to the raceway’s weekend events.”
“The raceway is in a rural location,” said Infineon Raceway’s Vice President of Facilities Jere Starks.
“Because we are quite a long drive from the closest trauma facility it makes sense for us to have REACH cover our events. Having REACH dedicated to the race enhances the safety of our participants and we are
glad to have them on site this weekend.”
“The helicopter is staffed with a pilot, nurse and paramedic,” continued McDonald. “In the event
one of the participants requires emergency air transport we will be right there to render advanced care and rapid transport to the trauma center.” In addition to providing service for the NASCAR Nextel Cup this
weekend, REACH will provide dedicated service on July 15, 16 & 17 for the Infineon Technologies Grand Prix of Sonoma, on July 29, 30 & 31 for the FRAM Autolite NHRA Nationals, and on August 26, 27 & 28
for the Argent Mortgage Indy Grand Prix.
